Hola

There is kinda a lot of write about, and I don’t even really know where to begin.  I have spent the last week in Zurich, Switzerland and that has been a lot of fun.  I met some really nice work colleagues and really nice social contacts as well.  Zurich is growing on me as a city.  I spent the weekend in Zurich as well.  And it was a nice weekend.

However, I do feel guilty because there is so much that I need to do at my new apartment.  I made great progress over the last weekend, but there is clearly more to do.  I have managed to unpack about 50% of the boxes…so I just have another 20 or so left to go.  But these are the boxes full of knick-knacks (for lack of a better word), and they have no obvious place where I should place them.

Tomorrow night will be the night when test out the TV.  I still have no internet access of my own and that sucks.  And from Tuesday to Friday I will be in Copenhagen.  And I just might decide to go to Berlin for the weekend since EasyJet will have ridiculously low fares as usual and it can’t hurt to take advantage.

At work, this are as interesting as ever.  And challenging and rewarding and frustrating and…well, it is the way work is I guess.

I was going to write more, but the alarm telling me my laundry is done.  I was really lucky to get the free sunday evening slot so now I have to get it out of the dryer before it all shrinks.

Write more later πŸ™‚

All moved in…so much to do

Sorry everyone…I know that it has been such a long time since writing.  The 3Q close at work was torture and on top of that I had to move to my new apartment.  Big shout out ot Markus who has had to put up with me for the past 2 weeks as he drives Ms Daisy around while I fuss at everything.

But things are finally going in the right direction.

More later I promise.

Long Week Finally Over

After a very long week in which I worked over twice the normal hours.

Friday was spent with Susie, Markus, Thomas and Thomas. We went to Storstad. Was a great dinner out. But I was so exhausted that I went right home afterwards and went to bed.

Saturday was spent partially relaxing and partially at the gym. And then Markus come over and we drank loads and then went out and got seperated and then I came home eventually.

I am so hung over. But I deserved this week oh so much πŸ™‚

I’ve Had Enough! :-(

Monday – 14 hours in the office + 2 hours work at home
Tuesday – 13 hours in the office + 2 hours at work at home
Wednesday – 15 hours in the office + 1 hour work at home
Thursday – 15 hours in the office + 2 hours work at home
Friday – 8 hours…I hope

Not to mention I will need about 3 hours this weekend…

Is it just me….

or does anyone else totally heart the radio station feature on iTunes?

What I really want is for them is to give you the option to convert some radio segments to podcasts, but the rights management would be nearly impossible I am sure.

The only bad thing with Apple is that they still won’t make search functionality available to all of their iPod user base…which is a shame that they are blantantly witholding a functionality in the hopes of raping consumer’s pocketbooks.

Friday and Saturday

Met up with Tomas, Markus, and Susie after work at Storstad. We had dinner and then a couple of bottles of champagne and a couple of bottles of wine. Then we went to MondΓ€n and had a couple more bottles of champagne before we left for Connection. I am not sure why I continue to go there actually, because I usually never know many people there. Anyway, got really really drunk and come home early to hydrate and get some sleep.

Today I wasted the day and that is a good thing. Not great, just good. I really should be organising some more details about my move. Speaking of which, I will go take measurements of the apartment tomorrow so that is a good thing. Markus and Susie are coming. And we will meet my IBM work gang for brunch at Storstad. However, for tonight, Susie is inviting me over for dinner and Markus and Tomas are at a crayfish party (even though it is a little late in the season for that). I think we’ll all meet up around midnight at Lino. Should be nice. I’ll know people there and Johannes will be there as well and I haven’t seen him in ages.

Anyway, so there is my fabulous weekend so far. LOL. At some people it should include shopping for food. Or at least drink mixers.

Oh yeah, and I still have €600 of SAS travel vouchers to use. Anyone got any ideas?

Jesus Christos…

Could these pictures they took of me at Lino be any more….well…time to break out the vodka to make the pain go away…

Week In Review

I have managed to stay the entire week in Stockholm. That feels so strange. We have a big event going on at work right now. But I am also needed in Denmark, so I am going back and forth. There is a lot going on at work at the moment. It is all very exhausting. Makes me wanna give up and sell peanuts. But oh well.

Today I correct the english on the menu for one of my favourite restaurants. And I had brunch. And I voted in the Swedish elections (I am entitled to vote for local and districts matters), and I registered to vote for the mid-term elections in the US. Oh yeah, and I ordered business cards. My first in four years. And even spelled correctly.

My internal planning for the apartment is coming along well. I have it in my mind what I want. But in terms of actual purchases, all that has come to fruition is a chocolate fountain and a feather duster.

So between working loads of hours and loads of planning, I really want to take a weekend break somewhere. But I can’t. I need to save money first and foremost…and also I need to ensure that I get everything with my apartment sorted.

As you can see, besides hosting a fabulous dinner for workmates, going out with said workmates to bars and pubs and dinners, and being fabulous, it’s been rather mundane the last weeks.

Well, despite being sick I am getting in the party mood. Maybe it is a good idea to spread my cooties to the unsuspecting Swedes. Hee.
