Another Sleepless Night

Tonight is going to be another sleepless night thanks to the Superhero CDs that Steve burned for me. God they are so good. Lots of good dance music! I can dance all night long. I just might.

But alas, since I have to wake up at 04.00 in order to get to the airport in time for my 06.20 flight to Glasgow, I better force some sleep.

Sleep? What is that?

ÃŒ should be sleeping. Yes I should. But I am wide awake for some reason. It is probably because this Slanted House podcast is so good that I can’t get to sleep.

I have a flight in about 8 hours. I will sleep for 5 of those house and then wake up and go to Copenhagen.

And I also now have a terrabyte (1000 GB) of storage and backup space available, but I don’t know how to take advantage of it in the best way. It seems I need a backup strategy. I should consult Steve in these matters…he is smarter than I about these things…and probably most things…

One of the ways I know I can use it is through the fact that I have been digitizing my DVDs…enabling them for the iPod in the process (so I can watch movies while I am traveling). 70 GB of media information thus far. If I work really hard, by the end of August I will have trippled it.

And to end on the random note consistent with this post, I am grinding coffee beans at 01.00 in the morning. Sigh…I’m ‘tarded sometimes…

The Weekend In Review

Jack came up to Stockholm for the weekend (from Saturday to Tuesday).  I didn’t think that he would come (I had encouraged him to come and visit thinking it wouldn’t, but he did which was really cool).

The weekend in itself had several sub-plots and adventures.  First of all, SAS lost Jack’s luggage.  And they didn’t manage to find it and deliver it back until Monday night.  Second, there was a lot of cartoon watching.  He had never seen Drawn Together, so we managed to watch basically both seasons in one day.  Finally, during the days there were walks around town to do the tourist thing, eating a restaurants, and just a lot of relaxing and chilling which was nice.

It was cool to hang out with someone with a different perspective and point of view than my own (he’s Danish, but studies Turkish and practices Islam).  Conversations were as much fun as they were an opportunity for me to think differently.

Overall, it was a great long weekend.  And a nice change from the bar and club scene just to talk and get to learn about someone new.

Time Gous By, Con Loli

I will stop beginning my post with it has been a long time since I have updated. I know this already. And so do you, the few committed readers who read my journal 🙂

Suffice it to say that it has been a crazy time since I returned from my holiday in the USA. It was a nice time with family, and a nice time hanging out with Steve.

I arrived on Wednesday in Stockholm, just had enough time to get a shower, and then I had to go to Copenhagen to meet with my manager. Things changed at work in the since that they announced a new organisation, but so far I am not affected. If anything the role I play is strenghtened and that is a good thing. I can now work more directly with the people that I think I can add the most benefit to.

I have been in Copenhagen every week since I got back. I was supposed to travel less in the summer, but fate will have none of that. Last week I was in Copenhagen was nice because I got to meet Joachim before he went traveling to do orchestra concerts, and I got to meet Casper which was nice. And Evelyn made me cookies. Over the weekend I hung out with Sait and Fredrick as Markus was away. And I got to meet up with Nikolaj before we went on his concert in Croatia.

This week in Copenhagen I focused on work, and there was a lot of it. And there is even more work to come. I need a vacation to recover from these 2 crazy weeks since I have been back 🙂
