So I got a permanent account today since they were offering them for $150. Not that the company will be around in 6 years and not that I can notice a huge difference between paid and permanent (other than that i’ll never have to pay an annual fee again), but what the hell…

So today I find myself in Copenhagen. I am going to be leading a consulting review on the services we provide to some of our customer set. Pretty fun stuff actually. I go from being evaluated by audit, to all of the sudden leading an evaluation team of my own. I quite like these reviews because it gives me an insight into out customer set that I normally do not get. And it gives me a great opporunity to network with executives and such.

Today was a rather dramatic travel day. I overslept for my flight, so I had to take a 2-hour delay. i got into Denmark just in time to give a presentation and then a working lunch and the meeting my client partners for some groundwork for my review. I am finding that I will be in Denmark for the next few months likely…probably taking a few trips a month for the next 3 months. That is OK, I could use the points for both flights and for hotels.

The people I am working with are very nice so far, but they have never been review team members before, so therefore it will be a lot of training for them. And it is also good for me because I get the opportunity to work on some of those sorely-needed management skills in order to improve upon myself. And of course, at the end I get to present my findings to the actual end-clients, not just the internal clients.

But for now, I have an appointment with the hotel. It has been a very long day and I quite frankly need the rest. I was going to go out to Tivoli tonight, but I think that I will just have dinner in the hotel and get some prep work done in time for tomorrow so that I can step people through all of the things that I need them to do. And maybe if the cool kids are out and about, go and get a beer.
